Thank you for the privilege of serving as your Mayor for the past six years. 

Our region came out of the global pandemic at the end of 2022 and headed straight into a very rough 2023 that challenged us with two cyclones and seven extreme weather events. It was a dark time in Tairāwhiti’s history. I am incredibly proud of how we stood alongside each other as a community, the work we did together. I look forward to continue working with and alongside you as we tackle the steep recovery challenges ahead of us.

I am standing for re-election as Mayor because I am inspired by our community, I am energised and I have the experience to take us forward — I believe our journey together is far from over.

Over the past term, we have faced unprecedented challenges, but through working together and a lot of hard work, we’ve made significant progress. Now, I am focused on leading our region beyond recovery—ensuring we not only rebuild, but continue to grow stronger and more resilient, and set up for lasting success.
